Fees & Services* (Rev. 8-6-08)
Following is a Fee Schedule of our services effective as of the date above and are subject to change without notice. Fees and programs can be customized for larger families and more severe cases of cognitive dysfunctions. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, checks, and cash for payment of services. Program payment plans require automated payment by credit card or bank EFT with no prepayment penalty. EvaluationsThe first step in getting help is accurately understanding the problem. During the evaluation, we screen or test for 30-35 different processing problems. We seek to determine the cause as well as the processing challenges that an individual may be dealing with. We offer 2 options, a Basic Evaluation and a Comprehensive Evaluation. The primary differences between the two is that:
For most individuals, the Basic Evaluation is quite adequate unless you need a more detailed report for sharing with a psychologist or other mental health professional. The Long Distance Program fee includes one Basic Evaluation as part of the combined fee.
Scheduling fee: As for each evaluation appointment, a significant amount of time is set aside exclusively for your family, we require a non-refundable scheduling fee generally placed on a major credit card to hold an appointment slot. This fee is credited against the evaluation fee at the time of the appointment. This is to help reduce impulse scheduling, ensure attendance and avoid last minutes changes or cancellations. We encourage you to make a quality, informed decision. Program Fees and Payment PlansMental Training & Cognitive Therapy Program: The Sharper Minds program is a very effective therapy for enhancing mental performance and overcoming cognitive-related issues. For best results, it is imperative that the family commit to and complete the entire program. You can read more about the program throughout our web site. We have several Program options and in some cases financing options available that depend on the outcome of the evaluation and the needs of each family. These are better discussed at the close of the evaluation appointment, but range as in the table below. We also have a program for dealing with various autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). This combines therapies that each have proven success in reducing the symptoms of autism, creating an even more effective protocol. Most families take
around 12 months to complete the program.
If a
family puts in more than the minimum of an hour a day of practice (i.e. putting
in 1½ or 2 hours per day), results come faster and the program can be completed
in less time.
Younger children may take longer than teens or adults.
No refunds. The Program Fee for the Every Week, Twice-A-Month and Long Distance Programs cover 1 to 2 children/adults plus coaching parent(s) and is NOT a per person fee (see note 4 following). Number in parentheses, e.g. (2), refer to the notes following. The Fees shown are a flat fee for up to 12 months of services. Additional months are charged at the same monthly payment if the family needs a little more time to finish. The QuickStart Incentive is available for certain program options. It is a discount off the initial payment if starting within a certain number of calendar days from the date of the evaluation. This means paperwork signed and initial payment tendered.
Every Week Programs: The "gold standard" that we've set for brain development therapy. Weekly accountability appointments. Includes Sharper Mind Centers materials and equipment.
Twice A Month Program: Includes Sharper Mind Centers materials and equipment.
Self-Guided Home Training System:
Important Notes: (1) Scheduling Fees, Cancellations and No-Shows: As for each evaluation appointment, a significant amount of time (2.5 to 3.5 hours) is set aside exclusively for your family, we require a non-refundable scheduling fee to reserve an appointment slot. This would generally placed on a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American, Discover) or we can process a check by phone as well. This fee is credited against the evaluation fee at the time of the appointment. If the family no shows or cancels the appointment, the charge stands (time is non-refundable as well). If a schedule change is made greater than 4 business days prior to the appointment, the credit will be applied to the new time slot. We encourage you to make a quality, informed decision and check with a spouse for support and availability before scheduling. (2) For best results, families must commit to doing the program and make
it a priority to complete it. Terminating participation prior to
completing the program will result in less than the desired results. It
also may teach the children that if they put up enough fuss, they don't have do
something that may be difficult (the common denominator of success is doing what
others aren't willing to do). The Program Fees are an indication of the family committing to the program and are due up front.
Click here for more reasons why it is
important to commit. Financing
with the payment plan indicated is available as an option to our clients.
Option is 11 monthly payments at a 12.99% finance charge.
Total interest paid
over 12 months for the Every Week program
is $264.46 (less up to $250
QuickStart credit); for the Twice a Month
program is: $165.29 (less up
to $150 QuickStart credit); for the Long
Distance program is $198.35). There are no loan application fees,
origination fees or prepayment penalties. If
you have good credit and can move fast enough, consult with your bank or credit
union to see if lower rate financing is available to you (just don’t lose out
on the QuickStart Discount). Getting
a signature line of credit or refinancing a car seem to be the simplest ways of
getting lower interest rate financing. Refinancing a house may take some time,
though the interest may be tax deductible (for refinancing, check out www.interest.com. Grandparents often are willing to help some with the fees.
Most banks unsecured personal lines of credit have plans with the monthly
payment being ~2.5% of the account balance. In more severe cases where we know the program is going to take a longer period of time, we may customize program fees for the family. Monthly
payments must be made by automated bank transfers (EFT) or by charge to a
major credit card or Visa-type debit card. We cannot process debit/credit
cards tied in to a flexible spending (FLEX) or medical savings account (MSA).
Monthly payments are scheduled for the recurring day of the Month closest
to the sign up date. Recurring dates are generally the 1st, 5th,
8th, 11th, 15th, 18th, 22nd,
24th, or 27th of the month. NSF situations or credit
card transaction denied fees have the standard $20 fee. (3) Additions: The fee for the long distance program includes a Basic Evaluation. At this time, our M.D. is not available to do evaluations except by special arrangement in the Fort Worth, Texas area. If an M.D. evaluation is desired and she is available, then the initial fee needs to be increased by $150 for a Basic Evaluation or by $346 for a Comprehensive Evaluation. Payment for any extra services such as an additional person evaluation is added to the initial fee and is not spread over the monthly payments. (4) The program fees generally cover 1 to 2 struggling children per family as well as optionally both parents. If more than 2 children are struggling, for optimal results, a 1½ or 2-hour session should be arranged for. (5) No Refunds |
